A kitchen becomes so much more than just a kitchen when it is artfully inspired. As an open facing kitchen that looks out onto an open concept living space filled with elegant artwork, this backsplash needed to become an art piece of its own. Each and every tile color were carefully chosen to match the overall decor of this penthouse suite. To reflect the spectacular skyline views, a combination of Tile Patterns were used to create a free flowing and abstract rendering of the Minneapolis skyline. Pay special attention to the scattering of tiles at the top of the range wall! Each piece of tile that has an exposed edge was thoughtfully hand painted to create a seamless edge effect.
Vertical tiles with a staggered and random pattern emulate the scene of a city skyline! Not a bad idea for a city loft. Using scattered pieces of tile allow the tile to fade into the sky–or in this case, the 902 Night Sky.
This kitchen is a great example of when you would want to use Edge Glazing for your tile project! The top tiles have exposed edges which are painted with glaze and become part of the finished project. Open the world of tile possibilities!
