Color isn't the only thing to consider when it comes to your glaze choice - each glaze also offers a textural element, which we call the finish. We categorize our ceramic glazes into four general finishes: glossy, satin, crackle, and matte. (If you visit our color palette page and click on a glaze, it will tell you the finish underneath the color chip image.) While we love all of our finishes, for this blog we wanted to focus on our favorite satin and matte options. These finishes give off a modern and minimal look that always results in a chic finished tile installation. It's an easy way to turn a standard tile project into a sophisticated dream with our chic matte and satin ceramic tile finishes!

1. Blue Opal - Matte Finish
Blue Opal is as lovely as it sounds. This glaze has a high color variation, meaning there are multiple hues within the one glaze color based on how much glaze our tile elves apply, and where the tile sits in the kiln. A dusty mixture of blues and greens, there's something about this tile that is so romantic. It's the perfect choice for any room that you'd like to have a peaceful, soft, and serene vibe. Looking at this color makes us feel like we're at a spa.

2. Grapefruit - Satin Finish
We think Grapefruit is the juiciest of all our glaze colors. This pink packs a punch without overpowering a space. The satin finish only enhances the bold color, drawing you in rather than reflecting the light, as it would with a glossy finish. We think the use of this pink glaze with Moroccan Fish Scales for a shower wall is the perfect addition to this fun, personality-filled home. What better way to start your day than with this energetic color?

3. Old Copper - Matte Finish
Old Copper offers the beauty of old-time charm with a material (ceramic tile) that lasts and works beautifully inside your home. Inspired by the brilliant teal color of aged copper, this hue uniquely balances saturation and vibrance for an extremely sophisticated look. 4. Satin Black - Satin Finish
Last, but certainly not least, Satin Black. When you don't know what to wear you go for the little black dress right? We figure tile should be the same, and this glaze is one of our favorite go-to's when someone wants to make a statement without being too colorful. Rather than being dreary, we think this is the perfect backsplash for a room filled with bright pops of colored decor. How you decorate and design the space around your tile can help make or break the look you're going for.
