Mosaics are an ancient art form and a practical one. From adorning grand palaces to awe-inspiring places of worship these artisan tiles have surely withstood the test of time. Durable ceramic tile can be arranged in a limitless variety of designs. But here, we want to take a look at ways to bring mosaic floor and wall tile into a home or commercial space. 1. Hexagon Flower Pattern
Let’s start with a classic: the hexagon flower design. This mosaic floor tile pattern adds a lot of charm with little complexity. It’s clean, not too busy, but can make a floor stand out from a more monotone design. While black and white tile in this pattern is definitely a classic look, try experimenting with different glazes. Choose your own colors according to your taste or use our recommended 23 Sapphire Blue glaze to liven up your design.

2. Geo-Star Pattern
Your space is sure to shine with this star arrangement of tiles! Our diamonds and hexagons were literally made for each other, and they come together in a perfect mosaic tile backsplash or floor pattern. This tile arrangement gives a bold, fresh, and modern look. We call this the Geo-Star Pattern, for obvious reasons.
3. Geo-Hex Pattern
The hexagon and diamond collaboration doesn’t end there: meet the Geo-Hex Pattern. This popular mosaic tile pattern turns the six-sided hexagon into a multi-dimensional visual marvel. With approximately 80% Hexagons and an accent of 20% Diamonds, this unique pattern is 100% eye-candy!

4. Moroccan Fish Scale Wave Pattern
Another timeless classic, moroccan fish scale tiles can form two different mosaic patterns––the classic mermaid or fish scale formation they’re named after or the wave pattern, where it takes the aquatic motif in a new direction. The natural waviness of the grout lines adds an element of intrigue to any space as well as the innumerable possibilities with color and layout.

5. Herringbone Pattern
A unique twist on a classic shape, our herringbone tile pattern is the perfect way to let your creativity shine with standard subway tile. Each piece is sized and glazed by hand in-studio, giving it unmatched depth, variation, and texture. Herringbone mosaic tile is extremely versatile––turning subway tile 45 degrees can totally transform the look of a kitchen, bar, or laundry room. We could go on and on about herringbone tile (it is endlessly versatile) and you can check out our video on the topic.

6. Splash of Pattern
A wall-height mosaic tile backsplash in the kitchen can be spectacular. But, if you’re looking for a more contained approach, you can place the mosaic behind the stove and surround it with tile trim. An easy herringbone contrast for the stove splash provides an interesting contrast without a lot of extra customization. No need to overthink it!
