With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, love is in the air and we thought we’d talk about all the things we love about tile! From the behind-the-scenes process to some of our most beloved tile projects, we are showing you some exciting things to inspire you.
Handmade (with Love)
Every piece of tile made by Mercury Mosaics passes through many hands before arriving and being installed in your space. Each pair of hands adds a little extra love to every pieces of tile.
Beginning with a piece of solid clay we cut down the clay to your specific tile and mosaic shapes. Tiles are then hand-painted with glaze. From there, the tile is loaded into the kiln (by a pair of strong hands) where it is fired at nearly 2000˚. Once the tiles have cooled, our tile elves move onto layout and assemble the mosaics on a mesh backing for easy installation. Lastly, the tiles are carefully packed away and shipped. When you receive your tile, you can feel the love that went into it!

The quality of handmade tile is unlike any other. One of our most beloved tile shape is the Subway Tile, which has been a timeless standard tile of choice for many. We love being able to provide this classic tile shape in a completely unique way. So whether you are looking for a specific look or want something that is completely unique, we got you covered!
