Spring has sprung and creativity is in full bloom here at Mercury Mosaics! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and we are bursting with ideas for tile. We always like to pay special attention to the lively colors and patterns of Spring and Summer, and this spring is no exception. The contrast of vibrant colors that are used in bold patterns can be just the inspiration you need. We love to think outside the box here, so whether you want to mix and match patterns for a fun mosaic look or simply create a subtle geometric look with a custom texture, we can help you create the inspired space of your dreams!
The kitchen below was inspired by the extravagantly epic mosaic we created for the lululemon store on Main Street in Santa Barbara, California. They wanted to bring a similar look into their kitchen without breaking the bank, and the result is gorgeous!

If you have followed us long, you have probably seen our most popular Moroccan Fish Scales. We love using them in different patterns as well! 3W Lemon is a lovely summer yellow that looks great in the wave layout, inspired by the streets of Barcelona.

Floral patterns don’t have to be custom cut tile in a detailed mosaic. Our tile for this Whole Foods curves over the entire cheese section creating an overhead floral mural. It only uses one shape of tile and no cutting! Similar to pixels, little squares make up the image as a whole and translate the flowers into a more artistic interpretation.

We are swooning over this kitchen using tile in a radial chevron pattern. We pulled together some of our colors in Subway Tile to get a similar look entirely with handmade tile! Did you know we offer custom textures for tile? Here you see how the Woodgrain texture shows of the glaze so nicely and enhances the handmade quality of our tile!

Another way to use texture is to work with the tile shape! See how the lines on the tile come from the corners of the hexagon shaped tile we call Honeycomb tile.
