We're all for getting our clients to think outside the box when it comes to handmade tile. We take pride in being a creative and forward thinking company so it's only natural that we want our tile to represent that. That's why when clients express interest in funky patterns, bright colors and eccentric designs, we're all for it. All Time Favorites
The DeRusha's and our friends at Construction2Style are two of our all time favorite people to work with when it comes to collaborating and getting creative with tile. Both of their kitchens exude personality and character so we were more than excited to get to work on a beautiful bohemian bathroom project for Jason and Alyssa DeRusha. Since the beloved Minneapolis food critic and WCCO star, Jason DeRusha, created his dream kitchen last year, it only made sense that his wife, Alyssa, the fashion forward designer, had her dream project, too!

The Inspiration
With the keen design eye of Alyssa DeRusha combined with the talented Construction2Style team, we knew this bathroom remodel would be one for the books. Homeowner Alyssa DeRusha is super fashion forward and wanted her home office bathroom to reflect her bold and beautiful taste. She had been eyeing Eden Nightfall Wallpaper by Rebel Walls for quite some time and knew this luxurious floral pattern would pair flawlessly with gold accents, teak accessories and handmade tile.

The Shower
This Fox Homes MN statement shower wall was one of the main inspirations for the DeRusha's bathroom. In the past year we've seen some of our most stylish clients swap staggered subway tile for a stacked layout and we couldn't be more happy this look is trending. It's a modern and bold twist on a classic look and the perfect choice for those who favor modern, contemporary, or transitional design styles. With the homeowner's forward thinking style, these stacked subway tiles in a deep glossy teal were the perfect option.

The Floor
One of our newest obsessions is creating the perfect pattern with tile. We've developed this signature quilt pattern to give clients a beautiful Art-Deco inspired option that is filled with variation and character. The DeRusha's chose glaze colors that are filled with variation and depth to give their bathroom a true one-of-a-kind feel. These luxurious colors and textures repeat to create a larger geometric pattern that's totally irresistible. Plus, we use standard sheets of tile that flawlessly fit together to ensure an easy installation!

Putting It Together
Although our design team are experts at rendering what the tile itself will look like when the project is completed, sometimes it can be helpful to show what the whole space will look like especially in this case where so many elements are involved in the design. That's where our friends over at Chief Architect come in. With this professional home design software, you're able to place wallpaper, countertops, vanities, accessories and much more into your space to see what the overall remodel will look like. Now, with our new partnership with Chief Architect, you can directly place our standard handmade tile into any space you desire!

The Results
What we learned from this project is to never underestimate the power of hard work and word-of-mouth. We are so grateful to be a part of the intertwined Minneapolis community, and can’t wait to continue spreading the tile love through inspiring and creative projects!
