One thing that is probably abundantly clear about all of us tile elves who work here, is that we love handmade tile. Our tile is not just a protective measure against dirt, water stains, grease splatters and food explosions–it is a work of art that each person gets to personalize to their style and their life. Hence, our great love. But another love of ours? Dogs. Cats. Birds. Rabbits. Pretty much all animals. And even some insects. We basically just love animals and actually encourage “bring your pup to work day” here at the studio. We’ve had some cats come in to our studio as well, but that doesn’t go over so well. We mean for the cats, not for us…we all know how cats can be in new surroundings and around new people…
Anyways, this kitchen made us especially excited because of the (insert cat coo-ing voice here) cutest sign ever! “All you need is love…and a dog” which we are appending “and handmade tile” to at the end. So to make the sign more grammatically correct it would say “All you need is love, a dog…and handmade tile”. We totally should have that made. Anyone know how to make cool wood or metal signs?
But to the other point of this blog post, the handmade tile in this kitchen. You probably couldn’t have helped but noticed another appearance of one of our star tiles, Bubbles. The Bubble blend is an homage to our Mars Blend with the standard Matador Red, Light Grey, Black and Antique Pewter colors of the blend but throws a surprising curve ball and adds bold Fire for some extra splash. The Bubbles are flanked by long and skinny handmade 3″x12″ Subway Tiles in 130 White that are organically cut to hug the Bubbles.
