We are so excited to share our new Mercury Mosaics Conference Room! An old industrial spray booth from the World War II era converted into an Industrial-Craftsman style conference room was such a fun project for us. We are so in love with how it turned out! Keep reading to see what went into designing and creating our new industrial craftsman conference room using herringbone ceramic floor tiles!
The Space
One of our favorite features of our new factory space is our conference room. The natural light and unique metal walls made it a natural space of inspiration. In fact, it’s an old industrial spray booth from the World War II era, which we think is a perfect backdrop for our handmade tile factory!
Our Design
We loved the industrial feel and bones to the space and wanted to mix it with our beloved craftsman style handmade tile. We landed on 2”x6” Subway Tiles in a Herringbone pattern, which is both a beautiful and classic way to layout a tile pattern. For the color we chose 913 Old Copper, this way there was a soft texture and organic color to complement the rustic metal beams in the room.

The Install
Our tile comes on mesh sheets for easy installation. We were blown away with how fast our installers were able to layout the tile. We love knowing that the little extra steps we take in making and prepping our tile help any installer get the job done!

Our Tile Elves take into consideration how the entire layout will look when creating each sheet. Our 913 Old Copper glaze has beautiful variation in it’s color. The Tile Elves make sure to layout the tiles in a way that creates a beautiful display of this variation.

The Reveal
The space turned out absolutely perfect and we couldn’t be more happy. The space pulled together well with a custom made table by Timber and Tulip. Our conference room now exuberates the handmade quality of our tile and establishes a creative space to meet with clients and dream up more exciting tile projects!
