Royal colors have been known throughout history to represent the hierarchy in our societies. From the royal blue of the British flag, to the signature color purple of our Minneapolis royalty, Prince – royal hues have impacted our culture and surroundings. Used in design, these jewel tones are a bold and vibrant choice. From deep purples and blues, to greens and teals, give your home the royal color treatment and peruse some projects below to be royally inspired.
1. Stunning Sapphire Blue
Posh and polished (just like the homeowner) this stunning sapphire blue bathroom will have you in awe. The owner of this amazing lake house is our friend Rachel Shingleton of Pencil Shavings Studio. Her refined design-eye coupled with our bright and bold tile transformed this small bathroom into the perfect master bath.

2. All the Tones
This vibrant Bubble blend is a perfect example of how to balance bold royal colors. The varying sizes are a playful approach to blending colors, and the pink accents brighten the dark tones and allow the layout to pop. Thinking about going dark with your tile? Consider a light accent to keep your space airy and buoyant.

3. Keep it Simple
Less is more when you combine shapes across one color to create a dynamic geometric pattern. The contrasting grout color enhances the design and allows the Large Hexagon and Medium Diamond Star Pattern to really speak for itself.
4. Mix it Up
Looking to shake it up and have some fun? This 2x6 Herringbone ombre pattern has all the right elements to keep your bar area lively. The subtle horizontal movement from light to dark is a welcomed variation of the classic ombre. The blending of these royal tones is a beautiful way to incorporate all of your favorite regal colors.

5. River Design
Highlight these royal tones in a more subtle way by blending them into a custom Diamond mosaic. This creative concept pairs an ombre style with our signature “river” accent. This regal “river” adds an element of drama to an already stunning design.

6. Make Some Waves
Get nautical with this unique shower design. Our Large Fish Scales were paired with organic cut white subway tile to create this striking look. Our 21W Cobalt glaze has medium variation to create subtle movement across this wavy layout. Thinking outside of the box, and into the shower, is definitely a new royal trend.

7. Classic Blue
Another way to use our 21W Cobalt glaze is to pair it with farmhouse whites and earthy browns. The bold color and glossy finish of the 3x6 Subway Tile adds to the varying textures of the space, creating a modern and comforting kitchen. And who doesn’t love open shelving? You don’t necessarily need to keep the tile white in order to have a bright and airy kitchen. This classic look is certain to stand the test of time.
