Ready to add some color to your home? Bring on the personality of a custom piece and the simplicity of standard tile with a kitchen backsplash like this. Rather than covering the entire space with tile, for this project, the homeowner opted for a clean accent backsplash. Although less tile was used, there was no loss of impact with the bold combination of bright blue glazes. This bright blue diamond tile kitchen backsplash is the perfect example of how a little tile can go a long way.

The Concept for the Space:
The homeowner, Heather, actually went to high school with our founder Mercedes - isn't that a fun connection? After staying in touch on social media, she knew who to reach out to once she was ready to remodel the kitchen of her stunning Minneapolis bungalow. For this project, she wanted to maintain the beauty of the home's original bones, while modernizing the space by showing the personality of people who live there. And you guessed it, blue is Heather's favorite color. The decor around the home matched the tile just perfectly...including her outfit!

Custom Look, Standard Pricing:
Did you know that you can add a mixture of as many glaze colors as you'd like to our standard sheets with no additional cost? By curating your own unique palette, you create the illusion of a custom project, but in reality the pricing is just the same as a single-hued sheet of Diamonds. Another great way to have your tile go a long way is by choosing accent application rather than covering the entire wall. This works particularly well in this kitchen because of the clean and bright white surroundings. Using a bold color always helps a small amount of tile really pop in a space.
Another great way to get a custom look with standard pricing is by shopping our signature patterns. This includes mixed tile shapes, color patterns, and unique layouts. View them all here.
Let Your Tile Shine:
The homeowner made some decor decisions that allowed her tile to truly shine. One of our favorites is the use of schluter finishing throughout. Schluter is metal edging that creates a crisp and contemporary finish to the tile. We particularly love the rounded corners, adding some softness to the otherwise geometric install. Also, the light switch covers not only match the schluter, but the shape of the diamonds. These little details elevate the entire space, turning this sweet kitchen into an Instagram dream.
