We’re showing you an inside look at our largest tile project of 2016. An incredible, 1774 sq. ft. of tile was made for the US Army Disney Resort. Each and every piece of tile that leaves our studio is handmade by our Tile Elves. So, we get especially excited when we create a project of this size. A lot goes into designing tile for a large project and we are going to walk you through each step of the design process for this epic tile project.
It Starts with a Vision
Mood boards are one of our favorite starting points, whether a client has one that they have made themselves or they wish to have us supply initial design ideas. Mood boards help to give a clear vision of how you envision the space. Anything from textures, patterns, colors and appliance choices can be added.

Choosing the Perfect Color
What made this project so grand was that we were actually creating tile for three separate areas within the Shades of Green at Walt Disney World – An Armed Forces Recreation Center. Rather than using the same green tile color for each space, we decided it would be very fitting to use three different shades of green!
Tile Tip: Greenery was named Pantone color of the Year 2017. See some fun and unique ways to use green in your home. Head on over to the blog to see exciting, fresh and rejuvenating designs!
Shades of Green Sports Bar
816 sq. ft. of 3″x8″ Subway Tile in our 713 Peacock Green was created for the first space. This green is one of our most vibrant and unique greens that features beautiful crystallization which happens during the firing process of tile making. This lively green was the perfect choice for the Shades of Green Sports Bar!

Shades of Green Express Café
717 sq. ft. of 4″x8″ Subway Tile in 406W Aged Moss was made for the café. Our 406W Aged Moss was the perfect earthy green to compliment the wood and other nature-inspired design elements throughout the café. The high variation this particular tile color creates such a beautiful balance of light to dark shades of this earthy green.

Shades of Green Express Café Kitchen
269 sq. ft. of Mod Mosaic Tiles was created for the kitchen space. The Mod Mosaic design creates the perfect energy for this kitchen space that is open facing to the front of the cafe. To keep it light, bright and open, our 123R Patina was the color of choice. This green, much like the 406W Aged Moss has beautiful variation.
