Plus, you can choose any of our gorgeous glaze colors to tie into a specific design style. Continue reading to learn more about tile wainscoting and see two projects for inspiration!

What is Wainscoting Tile?

Wainscoting is a method of wall protection using tile that has been used by builders, designers, and homeowners for centuries. Wainscoting uses subway tile to typically cover the bottom half of a wall, compared to other types of tile application which can be used from floor to ceiling. Using a trim piece at the base and top of the wainscot tiled area will complete the look and pull everything together.

Why use Wainscoting in the bathroom?

The bathroom is a great place to use the wainscoting tile application because of the waterproof and decorative elements. The tile creates a tight, water-sealed seam which can be used around the room, including near a bathtub or shower. Not only is this method of wall protection functional, it's charming too!

Vintage Modern Ensuite Bathroom

Charming is just one word to describe this stunning space! Patti Wagner, homeowner and designer, wanted this ensuite bathroom to reflect the vintage feel of her classic 1927 Tudor home. The light and bright tiled subway wainscot adds a classy and sleek look which ties into the vintage modern style perfectly. Placing this wainscoting tile near the bathtub and toilets is ideal because of the waterproof nature of this wall protection.
