Live Edge Tile: An Edge-Glazed Design That Flows with Your Space

Live Edge Tile: An Edge-Glazed Design That Flows with Your Space

What Is Live Edge Tile? A Beautiful Alternative to Tile Trim

Live Edge is a custom tile starting point that embraces an organic shape and celebrates edge-glazed design. The beauty of Live Edge lies in its simplicity—there’s no need for bullnose, Schluter, or pencil liner trims. Instead, each tile is individually edge-glazed to create a smooth, intentional transition that lets the tile design speak for itself. 1. Workspace Tile Wall: Springboard for the Arts

The Springboard for the Arts office features a sophisticated yet playful Live Edge statement wall made from a mix of hexagons and diamonds. The combination of soft blues and vibrant pops of color plays beautifully with the space’s natural wood, industrial touches, and airy energy. It’s the kind of install that instantly tells visitors they’ve arrived somewhere creative and thoughtful.

2. Wedding Venue Feature Wall at Pinewood Events

This venue takes elegance to a new level with a Live Edge wall featuring large hexagons, medium diamonds, and even custom hexagon planters. Glazed in rich green, this edge-glazed composition forms a flowing, organic border—no trim required. The result? A showstopping photo op that offers the perfect backdrop for weddings and events alike.

3. Showroom Tile Design: Mercury Mosaics Geo-Hex

We couldn’t resist bringing the magic of Live Edge into our own space. Our showroom’s kitchenette and inspiration wall are framed in a Geo-Hex pattern featuring a color gradient of pinks, oranges, and burnt browns. This installation demonstrates how a live edge can be used to draw attention, frame a feature, and express brand personality all at once.

4. Organic Bathroom Tile Design: Moroccan Fish Scale

This bathroom features a stunning live edge of Moroccan Fish Scales in multiple shades of blue, flowing diagonally in an organic sweep across the wall. It’s eye-catching, full of character, and beautifully dynamic. This project is proof that Live Edge brings movement and charm to even the smallest spaces.

5. Diamond Tile Backsplash in a Minimal Bathroom

This creative installation features white and blue diamond tiles arranged in a free-form shape that dances up and down behind the toilet. The result? A unique, refreshing vibe that proves tile doesn’t have to be boxed in by trim or symmetry.

6. Live Edge Tile for Kitchen Columns: Wave Pattern Gradient Wall

This modern kitchen features a Live Edge statement wall with a gradient wave pattern that wraps around a column. The color transition from white to dark blue adds visual flow, while the matching backsplash on the other side ties everything together beautifully. The organic edge brings unity to the design without sacrificing style.

7. Blue & Green Geo-Hex Live Edge Kitchen

In this bright and inviting kitchen, a Live Edge of blue and green geo-hex tiles climbs toward the ceiling and rolls over a corner, continuing onto a column. The organic line enhances the architecture of the space while adding a splash of natural movement. Designed by J Morris, this project shows how Live Edge can create a standout moment in even the most practical rooms.

8. River Ombre Gradient Kitchen Backsplash with Live Edge

This kitchen installation combines two custom elements: a river ombre gradient and a flowing Live Edge. Instead of extending tile all the way to the wall, the design embraces an organic edge that lets the tiles fade naturally into the room. It’s a perfect example of how purposefully exposed edges, glazed to perfection, can turn your tile into a piece of art.

How do you finish the tile around the outer edges though so it doesn’t look “raw” and unfinished?

  • Sarah

How are the edges finished? Is there an edge of grout or caulk? Is the side profile of the tile visible?
Want to have something like this done but can’t tell how the edge is completed.
    Thanks!
